Patrick E. Fife is a native to North Louisiana. He has spent nearly 3 decades at a host of companies designing, building, and managing all aspects of oil and gas operations across the United States, including the Gulf of Mexico. He started his career in 1994 as a roughneck on a drilling rig in North Louisiana and, prior to joining Synergen, had spent the last three and a half years serving as a senior executive/partner building a sizable, well-respected, and diversified oil and gas company. Patrick was excited about the opportunity to join Synergen as Chief Executive Officer and help Founder and Majority Owner Matt Adkins continue to realize his vision for a company that stays true to it’s core values, takes care of it’s people, serves the needs of it’s customers, and is built for the long run.

Patrick lives in Baskin, Louisiana with his wife of 24 years, Amanda. Together they have 4 children (Grace, Christopher, Joshua, and Caleb) and 1 grandchild (Wyatt). Patrick enjoys time with family, various outdoor activities, and serving at his local church.

Synergen Owner and Chairman Matt Adkins has always believed in the power of growth–both in his own career and in the company he founded. A former nurse anesthetist who wanted to build a legacy, Matt decided to take a crazy risk and co-found a business in the vast and turbulent energy industry. “I hated being inside,” Matt said. “I wanted to be out in the field, working with a team, building something that would last. I had asked people and mentors I respected, and they all told me the next big thing would be water transfer.”

In 2012, Matt heeded his mentors’ advice and co-founded Hydroline, the company that would eventually expand into Synergen. For over a decade, Synergen’s network of collaborative service companies has grown exponentially and expanded its capabilities to impact even more of the energy industry. Matt’s passion for learning, technology, and growth leads him as he inspires his team. “We’re all here to build something bigger than ourselves,” Matt said. “That’s why we’re investing in new technology, building our team, and living out our values every day, both in the office and out in the field.”

A problem-solver with experience in finance and the energy industry, Hydroline President Matthew O’Neal ensures that Hydroline, a Synergen company, operates as a unified, effective team. Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University, then spent over a decade in the energy industry before joining the Hydroline team.

“At Hydroline, people get excited about coming in to work,” Matthew said. “That’s what inspires me to be a better servant leader to this team. We’ve grown so much and served so many, and we’re just getting started.”

Ross Brown is a highly accomplished company President with years of experience in drilling and fluids and a strong background in environmental science. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana Tech University, which has fortified his knowledge and expertise in the field. Ross is responsible for the success of the drilling team, encouraging them to strive for excellence and steering operations toward maximizing profits while minimizing inefficiencies.

For Ross, the most rewarding aspect of his work is creating an enjoyable work environment for his team. When he’s not working, Ross enjoys spending quality time with his family, working on the family farm, and hunting. His greatest blessings are his wife, Jade, son Luke, and daughter Elaine. With his diverse skill set, wealth of experience, and personal interests, Ross is an incredible addition to the Hydroline team.

Kelly Babin is the Chief Financial Officer who excels in tracking cash flow, financial planning, reviewing and analyzing financial data, and proposing strategic direction. She has earned her degree in Finance and Accounting from LSU in Shreveport and is also a CPA and CGMA.

Kelly has spent 8 years in public accounting and 13 years in the insurance industry, where she worked as a Controller for 10 years and as a Financial Director for the last 3 years. She loves watching Hydroline grow and succeed while adapting to the changing environment.

Kelly has been married for 14 years to her husband, James Babin, and they have 3 children, Elizabeth (10 years old) and Audrey and Dru (8-year-old twins). Outside of work, Kelly enjoys watching her girls compete with their elite cheer team and her son play soccer. Her favorite family member is her 2 year old mini Australian Shepherd, Bandit. Something you would never know about Kelly is that she loves traveling and is always up for doing something different!

Rebecca’s role is pivotal in advancing Synergen’s employee relationships and aligning HR initiatives with the overall mission. Her expertise spans various sectors, including a restaurant franchise, air medical aviation, and a leading payroll and HR services provider. Rebecca finds the most rewarding aspect of her role in positively impacting employees’ lives. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University and is SHRM-CP certified. Outside work, she’s happily married with two daughters and adds her self-described “certified Cajun” flavor to everything she does.
